![]() ![]() ![]() As a reminder, the mandate to use SciENcv only for preparation of these senior personnel documents will go into effect for new proposals submitted or due on or after October 23, 2023. These revised formats are now available in SciENcv and on the NSF Policy Office website. The certification of NSF biosketches MAY NOT be delegated to administrators. If using the SciENcv template, SciEncv records an individual’s certification when they download their biosketch from SciENcv. If using the NSF fillable PDF, an individual will record their certification via typing their name in the Signature field. The certification language is included on both the NSF fillable PDF and SciENcv template. In these revised versions senior personnel are required to certify that the information within their NSF biosketch and current and pending support is current, accurate, and complete. The NSF has implemented revised versions of the Biographical Sketch formats effective for proposals submitted or due on or after January 30, 2023. Given different sponsors request this information in different formats, it is highly important to always closely review and adhere to each sponsor’s specific CV or biosketch requirements when preparing these. Many sponsors request biosketches be provided to them that adhere to the format specified by either the National Institutes of Health, or the National Science Foundation, or a variant of one of these. There have been changes to the NIH Biosketch and the Other Support page. NIH encourages researchers to create a NIH biosketch online using SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae) to integrate information from your NIH eRA Commons profile and your bibliography in NCBI. It is similar to a CV but limited to five (5) pages with information pertinent to the application. The National Institute of Health (NIH) Biosketch is the most common format. If you are engaged in research, even as a collaborator, you will need a biosketch. Most grant applications require a Biographical Sketch (biosketch), an abbreviated record of your accomplishments. ![]()
